When the Earlobe Loses Its Shape
The earlobe consists of soft fat and connective tissue without supporting cartilage. This makes it particularly susceptible to mechanical stress and age-related changes.
- •Torn Ear Holes: A careless snag with an earring or a heavy piece of jewellery over years can split the ear hole.
- •Former Tunnel Piercings: Severely stretched earlobes (flesh tunnels) often do not return to their original shape on their own.
- •Age-Related Sagging: With increasing age, the connective tissue loses its firmness; the earlobes become longer and appear less full.
A surgical correction is often the only way to bring the tissue back into a natural, closed shape, so that jewellery can later be worn again.
Precise Reconstruction of the Tissue
In the surgical earlobe correction, we precisely remove excess, stretched, or scarred tissue. The fresh wound edges are then rejoined in the finest layered technique.
We pay particular attention to a harmonious rounding of the lower ear contour. Through special plastic suture techniques (such as Z-plasties), we prevent the scar from later contracting or unsightly indentations forming.
Why an Earlobe Correction at MEDICAL ART?
Straightforward Procedure
The operation is gentle and performed in just a few minutes under local anaesthesia on an outpatient basis.
Barely Visible Scars
We suture the tissue with extremely fine threads, so the later scar is usually recognisable only as a fine line.
Jewellery Possible Again
After a sufficient healing time of several months, new ear holes can be pierced at a slightly offset location.
Immediately Socially Presentable
You can leave our clinic directly after the procedure and continue your normal daily life.
Experiences of Our Patients
Transparency in Billing
Earlobe corrections – regardless of whether torn ear holes or tunnel corrections – are elective aesthetic procedures. They are billed privately according to the GOÄ and are generally not covered by health insurers.
Before the procedure, we transparently clarify the surgical effort, which can vary depending on the defect.
Your Investment Framework
The costs depend on the degree of difficulty and whether one or both earlobes are treated.
- ✓A simple tear is surgically less elaborate than the complex reconstruction of a large tunnel piercing.
- ✓Through our partners, we are happy to offer you convenient instalment payments.
In Three Steps to the New Earlobe
Assessment
We examine the defect precisely and plan the incision lines so that as much healthy tissue as possible is preserved.
The Operation
After a small local anaesthetic injection, the tissue is largely painlessly corrected and sutured with fine threads. Duration: approximately 30 minutes.
Aftercare
The small plasters should be left in place for several days. We gently remove the sutures after approximately 7 to 10 days at our practice.
Does the Anaesthesia on the Ear Hurt?
The anaesthesia on the earlobe requires only a small prick, comparable to having a normal ear hole pierced. Once the medication takes effect after a few seconds, the entire remaining procedure is generally low in pain.
Mehr zu unseren Comfort-Optionen →For a beautiful result in earlobe correction, absolute fine work and the right suture technique are crucial – the tissue does not forgive mistakes here.
