Early Detection Makes the Difference
Conditions of the oral mucosa are often underestimated in daily life. In the early stages, abnormalities can be treated most effectively.
- •Very Good Chances of Recovery: If a tissue change (such as oral cancer) is diagnosed early, the medical outlook for therapy is very good in the vast majority of cases.
- •Often Unnoticed: Since initial mucosal changes usually cause no discomfort, they are often simply overlooked without the trained eye of a physician.
- •Typical Risk Factors: Regular smoking, high alcohol consumption, and certain viral infections (HPV) increase the risk of mucosal changes.
A proactive screening examination gives you certainty and is an important step in personal health responsibility.

The Trained Clinical Eye
The foundation of our cancer screening is the systematic clinical examination by experienced surgeons. With a trained eye, we assess the entire oral cavity, throat area, and neck region.
Through the many years of surgical experience of our team, even subtle tissue changes (cell dysplasia), whitish or reddish patches can be identified and classified early – entirely without additional radiation exposure.

Systematic and Relaxed
Discussion & Medical History
We briefly ask about pre-existing conditions in the family, current complaints, or specific risk factors such as regular smoking.
Visual Examination
The physician systematically examines your lips, tongue, palate, and throat while you are reclined. The neck area is additionally gently palpated from the outside.
Lymph Node Palpation
Additionally, the physician gently palpates the lymph nodes on the neck and under the jaw to detect possible changes early.
Joint Discussion
We discuss the results directly afterwards. Often, small findings are completely harmless (e.g., a friction spot). If we are uncertain, next steps are planned calmly.
Prevention Rather Than Worry
Often people don't dare to go for cancer screening, out of concern about a positive finding. In truth, however, it is much more relieving to have certainty. Even if we should discover a small abnormality, it is almost always well and minimally invasively treatable at an early stage. We accompany you with expertise and great empathy.
